Click pictures to enlarge | Tim Newman is in the seventh grade. He has had a great football career. Tim is now playing for Porter Ridge Junior Midget Football Program. He had one of his biggest days ever as a Raven on September 7th at Hough high school, running for 16 carries for 365 yards with a 4 touchdown performance day. He had a 45 yd TD called back which would have made his total 410 yards for the day. Officially he finished with 365 total rushing yards. Tim looked good wearing jersey #1 like his younger brother Jacob. Tim worked very hard this summer in speed training and it paid off for him. He improved his 40 time to a 4.5. He just turned 12 in June. His career touchdowns are 169 and career TD points are 1,014. He is on pace for a 3,000 yard season. On September 14, 2013 Tim had a great day showing the great back that he is and showing off his God given talent. He played a very tough PAL Junior Midget team. The PAL Head Coach, Coach Brown said Tim was one of the toughest and best backs he has seen. He rushed for 18 times for 192 yards on a team where the offensive line did not create very many holes. His total official rushing yards to date is 557 yards in two games. On September 21, Tim had his best day as a football player. He ran for a record number of yards, on 10 carries for 392 yards. On his first touch of the game he went 54 yards for a TD. The Harrrisburg Cowboys had no clue of what had hit them. He had a record breaking day with 6 TDs. It was a great day taking his total yards to 947 yards for the year and 9 TDs. Tim had another outstanding performance on October 5 against MARA Colts. Going into the game the Colts were 3-1 On October 12, Tim had another great day. Tim had 180 yards rushing and 89 yards passing, making it 269 yards total offense. On October 19, Tim had another great day against another Weddington team. He had 15 carries for 297 yards and 3 TDs, takeing his total rushing yards to 2,221. This is the first time Tim has rushed for over 2000 within 7 games. His total number of TDs is 22 for the season. This is his best season ever since he has played tackle football. Weddington Mighty Mite, Year 1- 1643, TDs 20 Sun Valley 5th grade, Year 2 - 1200- TDs 5 Porter Ridge Pee Wee, Year 3 - 1860- 14 TDs Porter Ridge Junior Midget, Year 4 2939- 28 TDs (present) On October 26, Tim had a great performance today. He ran for 444 yards and 2 80 yard TD runs, in a 34-28 loss. Tim accounted for 20 of the 28 points, taking his total yards rushing to 2665 and 25 TDs, leaving 335 yards to a 3,000 yards rushing season. Tim had a great game today, November 2, against a very stubborn Weddington Sheer team. This was the third time playing them and they knew exactly what we would do, but he managed 274 yards and 3 TDs. He had his greatest season ever as a football player. He set a personal all time goal of running for 2939 yards, short 61 yards of 3,000. Many coaches throughout Pop Warner consider him the best Junior Midget running back. He and his brother Jacob have teamed up for 5467 yards and 56 TDs in only 9 games this season. Tim's team closed out the year with a Banquet at Dave & Busters on November 9, 2013. He was named the Team's MVP. Capping off a 2939 yard season and 28 touchdowns, averaging 3 TD's per game. On his biggest day he had 6 TDs TOTAL YARDS- 7874 (11/9/13) TOTAL TDs- 90 (11/9/13) The Newman Brother's combine yards rushing year to date is 15,351 Newman Brother's total TDs are 157 (11/9/13)
